The Rig / Free to a good home
Last post by Gerard Brown - September 01, 2022, 04:43:40 PM
We've got a Plastimo reffing / furling spar which we don't need anymore.
It's in Milton Keynes if anyone wants it or, maybe we could rendezvous somewhere mutually convenient.

It's a Plastimo 406 S complete with luff wire and top spacer.

I decided today to revert back to the normal system. The 2 to 1 was good in strong winds, but the extra friction was a nuisance in light winds. Keep it simple!

Thanks.

We?re slowly coming round to giving it a go mounted in the well.

Glad you like the video, the Epropulsion is great in terms of power - and we have two batteries - but we want some more range ??
We know what you mean about smelly / dirty lumps in the van.

Before getting our Torqeedo we used to tow with a 4HP Tohatsu mounted on the boat with no problems. It saved having a smelly heavy engine in the van and once in place it stayed there for the season. I like your latest YouTube video!

Thanks David

We?ve got the Epropulsion electric motor which we love but, after two weeks on the West Coast of Scotland we?re thinking of buying a petrol motor as well - to give us the extra range which is built into a can of fuel.
Past experience with engines though hasn?t been good and we?re not keen on travelling with it in the car or want to,lie it down in the cockpit.
We always seemed to be wiping up drips and spills!

Hello Gerard,

Until purchasing a Torqeedo electric outboard, I always towed W/B 107, with a Mariner 4 (Weight 25kg) mounted on the transom and never experienced any indication of structural compromise.
Just come off Coniston Water after an exhilarating sail up and down the lake with a really good, fresh SSW'ly breeze, hope to see you on your next visit.
Regards,
David

Does anyone trail their WB with an outboard mounted on the transom?
Is the boat strong enough to support 25kg whilst on the road?

The Hull / Tiller material?
Last post by sloq_quail38 - August 05, 2022, 08:12:25 PM
Hello,
I managed to snap my tiller and I'm going to fashion a new one, is anyone able to provide guidance on what wood should be used?

I've looked around on the forum but now found anything specific and Google hasn't turned up as much as I thought.

I have the existing tiller, please see pic.

Thanks

Miscellaneous / WB 10 is sadly for sale!
Last post by andrewg149 - August 03, 2022, 12:37:28 PM
Brig no 10 for sale  -having been on the hard for the last 4 + years. Located in Kent UK.
Been kept under loose cover ( renewed each year) , however she needs a bit of TLC ( rubbing strakes and gunwhales need varnish ) but the hull is very good and the boat very dry even without the cover

Running rigging is all new. Comes with 4HP mariner 2 stroke and braked roller coaster trailer. Both could do with a service but the trailer brakes work and the tyres  are serviceable .
Mainsail and Jib were new prior to purchase and hardly used
Interior cushions all original and in good condition.

Looking for ?3500 but open to discussion  Email me  for photos or call  Andy on 07450814887.
