Hopefully I have managed to put a clip of Martin sailing on Windermere in October 2007 (as part of the TSA cruise) on YouTube. The quality of the clip as viewed through YouTube is pretty grotty (the original is good). So is it worth the effort to post clips on YouTube, please let me know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhbQYmDKu34

I think it looks great. I'm a big fan of Youtube, I even use it for teaching my students. It is quicker to upload videos there than it is to do it directly on our own College system. The quality isn't great but generally it is good enough. I'm afraid I'm a great believer in the maxim that good enough is good enough. Life is too short for perfection.

Have just returned from weeks sailing at Falmouth. The weather was fantastic and we experienced the best sailing ever! Have put video clip on u tube of Wb48 sailing into Carrick Roads between Falmouth and St Mawes. Close hauled at 4.5Knts and carrying too much sail! Difficult to hold the digital camera in right hand and tiller in left. No excuse for luffing though! I wasn't quite singlehanded as the crew was below reading a book!

Markie on the Montgomery Canal moored in Welshpool town basin having just taken part in the IWA National Campaign Rally illuminated parade. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HCAF2T27mTs It was 'interesting' negotiating the canal at night with bridges and overhanging trees meaning the mast was up and down many a time.

David. Well done with your youtube contributions.(Illuminated parade shots are an inspiration as to what to do with the Christmas lights this year).
Were you and Roger the only Winklebrigs at the Windermere end of season TSA cruise? Look forward to seeing as many as possible on the Broads next Spring.

David I clearly need to be careful what I am doing when in range of your video camera! In those light wind conditions on Windermere I remember looking back and wondering why you were catching me up when you were not even sporting a topsail. Is that the outboard I hear running or a very noisy video camera?

Ok, Ok, Roger, yes I have to admit to using the iron topsail, more than I should. Cate gets very annoyed with me, she says I have no patience. But it was all in the name of 'art' or something like that, just wanting to get the perfect shot. And if you believe that you will believe anything!

This link is to a good sailing video on utube. Not quite the Winkle brig as we know it. I think the sailor is James Lawrence who had a sail loft in Brittlingsea making tradition sails.

There are several other east coast sailing videos from the same person.
Julian has been very quiet about his new boat but you can catch up on his progress from the link on his homepage.

I've been quiet because my new boat isn't a Winkle Brig! Interestingly, the second BayCruiser has been bought by another Winkle Brig owner, so maybe it will become the normal progression route for a "WBer" who decides she wants something a bit bigger and a lot faster...
The Keep Turning Left videos are wonderful, but it will take him forever to get around the country at the rate he is going.

That boat has recently been offered for sale on boats and outboards. Might have gone though.
