Have you had pictures/articles of your Winkle Brig published in a magazine/newspaper etc? Which magazines have run tests/comparisons on Winkle Brigs?
To start the ball rolling, Markie has recently appeared in the July 2007 edition of Waterways World in a picture showing some boats leaving a lock at the IWA Trailboat Rally on the Grantham Canal. She also appeared in Classic Boat when they reported on the International Festival of the Sea at Portsmouth in 1998. And one of the very first back to back tests with a Winkle Brig (and an Oysterman 22, Skanner 24, Cornish Shrimper and Keyhaven Yawl) was published by Yachting World in their January 1987 edition. It was as a result of reading this article that 'sold' us the Winkle Brig.

Not really a valid link but Yachting Monthly have reviewed a sailing book of mine. If anyone is interested. http://www.yachtingmonthly.com/ym/any_questions/20070605125124ymanyqs.html

A mention for the Winklebrig in the press (well on-line anyway!).

WBs get a good mention, plus a picture of #73, in September Classic boats, p.48 - an interview with Peter and Sue Farmer of the OGA.

Roger told me yesterday that the May edition of PBO has a feature on trailable gaffers. So I have just visited their website and the preview of the article shows a WB which I think is Pelican, am I right Julian? http://www.ybw.com/pbo/contents/contents_pbo_may08/12gaffers.html
A visit to WH Smith is required I think.

I'm amazed, not one, but two pictures of my boat in PBO! Fortunately I've got both my lifejacket and clothes on in both. You think you're out having a private sail and then find that the paparazzi are after you. It's nice to see what my own boat looks like under full sail, I've never seen that before. Sadly, they say very little about Winkle Brigs at all. I might have to write to them to redress that balance.

Julian. Congratulations on featuring in PBO two month's running and for getting a mention for the web site!
More WB exposure must be a good thing.

These are a few old articles about WB's in PBO which may be of interest (Copy shop reference 86and 93)
As it happens my boat 'Cockle' No 106 is Gunter rigged, as in the PBO article.
'Cockle' also had the hinged doors as in the PBO picture which I thought very impractical. I have replaced them with washboards similar to Rogers 'Partan'. Much better!
I'll try to post pictures again, it/I obviously failed.

Have just discovered that Winkle Brig 103 features in a series of marine mystery novels by Pauline Rolson. More info at http://paulinerowsonmarinemysteries.blogspot.com/2008/08/winkle-brig.html

Nice blog on Patience, No 116 with some good pics. She seems to have changed hands from a Brian Goodborn, to a Tony. Maybe we should try to coopt him into the Association, if he isn't already.

Not quite 'in the press' but on the front cover and January of the Cotswold Canals Calendar 2013 (their first ever calendar). Taken this year over the Jubilee weekend when the IWA Trailboat Festival took place on the Stroudwater Navigation near Stroud.

Thanks to Nick Bird for the photos, he took all the photos in the calendar.
