A low build epoxy on a timber such as mahogany would be excellent but would be more problematic on teak, as it has a high oil content, but is still possible after 'washing down' with acetone. If you use a SP or WEST resin neat (without filler), around five coats, it would seal the wood completely and look beautiful. Downsides are some care would need to be taken to roughly maintain shape if removing them and they would need to be over coated with a two pack varnish as base epoxy is UV sensitive. Such epoxy is extremely easy to apply and is simple to touch up if damaged after abrading but don't forget to reapply varnish on top!

The Hull / Age of Boat

I am trying to narrow down what sail number our Winkle Brig might be: The trailer is dated 1988 from the VIN plate which seems possible and she is certainly one of the early designs. From dates on the register WB7 was from 1987 and WB41 was from 1990 - so that leaves 13 missing numbers in that range but is likely to be at the lower end so maybe No 8, 11, 12 or 13? Has anybody the date of build for their WB to narrow this down further or have any idea how one might find out? Her name, if original, is Tab Nab and I would guess from old plates she spent some time on the Norfolk Broads

The Rig / Gaff and boom dimensions

I have recently rescued a Winkle Brigg of unknown date or number from a boatyard. Unfortunately she does not have her gaff, boom or topsail yard with her and so I need to make up some new ones. Would any of you kindly, knowledgeable people know the standard dimensions as I can't find them anywhere
