I am returning to UK sailing. My previous UK sailing was in the North Norfolk coast and Deben river. I want to get back to coasting and creek crawling. The Winkle Brig is my ideal choice for this. So if you are thinking of selling your boat and would like it to go to a home where it will be cherished please drop me a line. peteryoungman@yahoo.com  tel 07929913766.

Miscellaneous / Racing Handicap
July 27, 2019, 07:58:01 AM
Gilbert Hayward is organising a South West Gaffers rally on the River Dart on 10th August as part of 'Ditsum Regatta'. He has an annual gaffers race using the OGA T(H)CF handicap with 1 and possibly 2 Winkle Brigs entering. Does anyone know if any Winkle Brig has been measured for this handicap?

Miscellaneous / Dutch Winklebrig for sale
June 25, 2019, 09:25:29 AM
From Thea Kuling-Fibbe

Hi! Boat a tiny house on the water with a mooring for a small boat. Looking for a small nice boat I found this one.
https://www.yachtfocus.com/gebruikte-boten-te-koop/details/jachthaven-noordschans/146711/winkle-brig-16.html

It is the 95 I think. Any idea if the price of 6900 euro is realistic?

I don't know anything about these type of boats, only that they are very quite! Kind regards from Holland.

Repair Yards / Forton Lake Boatyard
October 05, 2018, 10:43:57 PM
With over 10 years of sailing and maintaining our own Winklebrig, we are now pleased to be able to offer a bespoke renovation service to all Winklebrig owners to keep your pride and joy on the water

Based in Gosport, our highly skilled shipwrights offer a Douglas Fir replacement to the aluminium mast, refurbish or replace bulwarks, gratings and cabin hatches, supply mast hoops and varnish, antifoul, paint or polish your Winklebrig.  We also undertake GRP repairs using eco resins and natural fibre cloths to support the minimal environmental impact of sailing a Winklebrig. We are able to either visit you or for a complete refurbishment transport your boat to our yard.

As we are in an area with an impressive boatbuilding heritage and which is home to both high tech and traditional yacht companies, we are also able to recommend and liaise with many other specialist providers to ensure that your project is successfully completed in time and within budget.

We are always more than happy to talk Winklebrig and look forward to speaking to you about your boat.

Miscellaneous / The Website
April 03, 2017, 08:27:53 AM
Please note that the main website (www.winklebrig.org) has been updated to allow easier access by tablet/phone etc.
All the data should be as before (except for the usual updates), and hopefully everything should be straightforward.
However, as ever, if you notice any errors, omissions or you'd like to see anything else, do please let me know.
Thanks, and good sailing for 2017
