Dear John,

Thank you for your message. Condolences on the passing of your father. It is very sad that he is gone. He was rightly proud of his Winkle Brig. We still enjoy it every year. With that pleasure we will continue to remember and honor your father.
Thanks again for informing us.

With kind regards

Hello Jilly,

I found in my archive some pictures while making the compression post.
On the pictures you see the post and how it is fixed. On the bottem  its is fixed through the wooden floor ( and that is not on the pictures).
We use the compression post as an holder for a little table.
It works very well. And the problem of the bending cockpitroof is solved.
Greetings, Barend

Hi Jilly,

I have on the WB 122 an removable compression post. When sailing it is in place, when asleep, it is removed.
I think a compression post is necessary because the deck is too weak to withstand the compression when sailing and too weak to hold the weight of persons walking on deck. Without compression post, and standing/walking on the deck, you can see that there is movement. And this movements leads to cracks.

Hi Roger,

Thanks for this well detailed repair story.
Although my WB (122) has the outside pins, your sawing-operation gives a good sight of the inner of the WB.

Greetings Barend

Hi Gerold,

Nice pictures. I am jealous about your trip. Did you catch any fish?

Three years ago we went with our boats from the Netherlands to the Norfolk Broads and used the slipway at Bureside Holidaypark. It is a good slipway and you can park your trailer safely. And the owners were very friendly. Also this location gives you a lot of freedom to choose which route to go.

Hallo Gerold,

we sailed this summer on the lakes of Mecklenburg in Germany without any problem. No one ever asked about CE.

Hi Clint,

I, WB 122, replaced the the vent with the Vetus mushroom ventilator. I am happy with it. In closed position it even holds your  weight in case you step on it.
Thanks Julian for all those years keeping the winklebrig-site running. I have had many hours joy of it.
Als from the Netherlands congratulations with the new forum. I am very glad Rick, you did this job. If ever you need some financial backing for the forum costs, let me know.
