The Hull / Bulwarks
April 27, 2020, 10:52:56 AM
Hi
I have recently removed the Bulwarks from 'Cockle' and would like to know if anyone can advise if coating with epoxy would be a better way of protecting them from the elements! They are not in bad shape but do have some deep cracks in places that would benefit from from filling, I'm thinking a coat of West epoxy to seal them and then varnish over the top... Also the bilge boards are similarly in need of repair to the edges and are not currently epoxy coated, I'm thinking it would it be a good idea to fill and coat these with epoxy also... any thoughts most welcome?

Hi David

Sorry for the long delay getting back to you, great to meet up for lunch at South Walsham, good fun, Josie really enjoyed herself and I will post pictures of 'Markie' and aggressive birds later!

Hi David

'Cockle is moored in a dyke just round the corner from Womack water at Bureside/Oby Dyke so would be easy for us to meet up and perhaps tag allong for a day sometime on your way up to Barton or back if you would like some 'Winkle Brig' company!

Hi

We have just become the proud owners of 'Cockle' Winkle Brig 106 and have moored her on the river Bure for the season, It would be nice to meet up with other WB's on broads to find out if were doing everything correctly, new to gaff rig as just coming from dinghy sailing!
