The Engine / Re: Electric outboards.

Epropulsion comes our best in tests for power and quiet running. I have had a 1.0 Spirit for 3 yrs. not that you'd want to drop the removable battery but reassuring to know it floats.

The Rig / Re: Rig Tension
June 06, 2021, 09:43:09 PM
The beauty of the WB is that it is of the size of a dinghy with a low stressed traditional rig. It is best to keep it simple. The trad lacing for the shroud attachment is more forgiving (safer) than bottle screws.
Tighten each shroud as equally and tightly as you can by hand then tack, progressively taking in the slack on the lee side. Repeat on the other tack.
A single block on the forestay provides sufficient tension.
The WB is not a Merlin Rocket or RS400. Don't spend ages on rig tension and don't overstress it.

Not sure why wax etc needed as beads slide easily and can rotate like a wheel.

Does anyone have or can point to a suitable trailer for a WB?

I should add that the easy of application extends to the fact that spot touch-up is possible without the need for a complete rub down meaning maintenance can be undertaken throughout the season without wasting sailing time or waiting for ideal weather.

Silkkens Cetol Filter 7 plus came out top in a Classic Coat long term trial some years ago. I use it because it is easy to apply and durable.
The problem with changing from an existing varnished surface to an oil based one is having to rub right down to bare wood. My advice is to stick with whatever finish is in already.
Below the waterline, especially in areas likely to meet hard objectseg drop keels, is to use epoxy and / or glass.
