The Rig / Re: Bilge pltes

You may be referring to the drop keels, these hinge from the front of the boards and are lowered or retrieved by cords which emerge thro the 2 holes either side of the cabin entrance.Since the wbrig is not a fussy sailer, I'm not too sure they are very important as long as they are pulled up. Earlier Brigs are a bit of a prob to remove the boards for maintenance, later ones have visible hinge pins under the keel area, so the boards can be removed for cleaning/painting and cord replacement. There is info elsewhere on this site with diagrams.
(Hope this is correct Capt. Bone  of Port line fame.Rgds.)

Hi Ross, the high peaked gaff is similar to the mirror dinghy rig, essentially a gunter rig. David bone has just posted a note on the rig page. Rgds.

I'm sure many other 'brig sailors will be sorry to learn we are at the end of an era. We have read your numerous postings and your book, with great interest. Thankyou Martin. Best of luck with the sale, and  best wishes for the future.

In the last picture...at the bottom of the transom, is that a folding step? For getting back on board ? Rgds Phil.

I didn't include the mast in my measurements, mine is stowed on brackets inside the garage., along with the boom, gaff and bowsprit.

The OA width of my rollercoaster trailer is 7ft, the OA length from hitch to the transom stern of the boat is 22ft 4ins.This could be adjusted, depending how far you wanted the boat onto the trailer and increasing the nose weight. WB100.

I went to my local saddler in Southport, with the old leathers. He gave me some offcuts and I cut them roughly to size with my stanley knife.
On his advice I soaked them in water and stretched them over the wood , securing with new copper tacks bought on ebay. One side at a time.
After they had dried out, they were coated several times with Neats Foot oil.
