Title: Beads for mast lacing
Post by: Sam on June 03, 2021, 06:04:03 PM
When I bought Wigeon she had some sort of substance coating the beads that attach the sail to the mast. Like a treacle or wax. Probably for weather proofing and/ or to ease the sail sliding up and down the mast. Does anyone know what this coating substance might be or can recommend something? Thanks in advance. Sam

I'm probably a moron but wouldn't a silicon spray/grease do the job?  Those who know, please advise!

Not sure why wax etc needed as beads slide easily and can rotate like a wheel.
